For more than 11 years, I.T. Guru has been part of an organization that shaped not just our business, but our understanding of the veterinary profession itself: VetPartners.org, a nonprofit association of veterinary business professionals dedicated to helping practices thrive through education, collaboration, and trusted expertise.
Most veterinary professionals think of industry organizations in terms of clinical continuing education. VetPartners fills a different, equally important role — bringing together consultants, accountants, attorneys, architects, HR specialists, marketing professionals, technology providers, practice management experts, and valuation professionals, all working to help veterinary practices make smarter business decisions.
Running a successful hospital takes far more than medical expertise: staffing, technology, cybersecurity, facility planning, M&A, finance, marketing, compliance, operational efficiency. VetPartners creates a space where experts in these areas collaborate instead of competing — which ultimately benefits veterinary teams and the clients they serve.

One standout example is the VetPartners Team Utilization Guide, built to help practices get the most out of every team member — improving efficiency, reducing burnout, and letting veterinary professionals work at the top of their license. William Lindus and I contributed to the technology side of that guide, focused on how the right systems free up staff to spend more time with patients and clients and less time fighting inefficient tools.

No conversation about VetPartners would be complete without William Lindus. William served on the VetPartners Board of Directors, including as Vice President, and was serving as Acting President at the time of his passing. He was deeply committed to helping veterinary professionals succeed through education, collaboration, and innovation.
William was more than a colleague — he was a connector. He had a gift for bringing people together, bridging technical and operational conversations, and turning complex challenges into practical solutions, whether at a conference podium, in a committee meeting, or mentoring a colleague one-on-one.
William passed away recently after a battle with cancer. At I.T. Guru, we feel that loss every day. He pushed all of us to think bigger, collaborate more openly, and focus on how our work could improve the profession as a whole. His legacy lives on through VetPartners, through every professional he mentored, and through every practice that benefits from the work he helped create.
